Marketing Engine has been named in the top three regional winners, and one of only 33 national semi-finalists, of Tech Nation’s Rising Stars competition.
Now in its second year, Rising Stars, the UK’s only national early-stage tech scaleup competition (run by Tech Nation), is designed to help the most exciting early-stage tech companies take their business to the next level and become the world-leading tech companies of the future.
The national Rising Stars semi finalists will travel to Manchester in January to attend two days of expert training, before pitching for a place in the final. Following the semi final in January, the competition will culminate in a Grand Final to be held in London in February 2020, where the top 20 finalists will pitch to a high-profile panel and 200 high-profile investors and corporate leaders for a chance to become one of Tech Nation’s 10 Rising Stars.
Jamie Hardesty, Community Engagement Manager for Tech Nation in the North East, said:
“As UK tech continues to punch above its weight on the international stage, it’s never been a more exciting time to start, grow and scale a digital technology company on our shores. The UK is home to high potential startups innovating in all corners of the UK and I’m ecstatic to work with some of the very best right here in the North East. Rising Stars presents a unique opportunity for our region’s early-stage tech companies, which could well become the scaleups of tomorrow, to expand their horizons and access new audiences, networks, investors and stakeholders to help them grow faster. I wish Marketing Engine, Apricity Compliance and Block Matrix the very best of luck in this competition, as I remain inspired and optimistic for the future of North East tech.”
Aimee Muirhead, co-founder, continued:
“A huge thank you to Tech Nation and all the judges for this recognition – we’re absolutely thrilled. After a busy eight months since launch, we’re growing and learning in all directions and this is the icing on the cake. We can’t wait to fly the flag for our region!”
